Making customers’ lives easier through better services is rewarding work
Who are you and what do you do for work?
Annika Haara works as a development manager at Fennia. In the video, she talks about what she has studied and what her job involves.
“After general upper secondary school, I decided to pursue a vocational qualification in business and administration. This led me to Fennia. I then continued studying further while working here and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.”
When Haara was just starting out at the company, Fennia started to develop its processes using robotic process automation. This caught Haara’s interest – so much so that she eventually started studying towards a master’s degree in information systems at the University of Jyväskylä.
“My master’s studies inspired me to apply for a development manager’s position. And here we are now! In the mornings, the first thing I do is check my Teams and email, where I may find questions from a developer on specifications we discussed the day before, for example. Before lunch I usually facilitate daily or weekly meetings. After lunch I may have for example a workshop with business operations specialists to go over the requirements that a system needs to meet.”
“The best thing about my work is seeing its results: a system that really works. It’s very rewarding to see that we have been able to make life easier for both our employees and our customers.”
